FAQs about our RV Resort

For your convenience, the Lake George RV Park answers some of our most Frequently Asked Questions below. If you have any other questions or comments, please contact us.

What is the significance of your Woodall’s Rating?

The Lake George RV Park has received the coveted Woodall’s Camping Guide’s 5W rating in BOTH recreation and facilities for 41 consecutive years! This places us in the top 100 campgrounds and RV Parks in the United States, and the ONLY RV resort in the United States that has maintained this rating for 41 consecutive years. We are visited annually by inspectors from Woodall’s who verify that our facilities and recreation amenities meet the expectations of the most discerning camper. While you may find other RV resorts that have recently acquired this high rating, we ARE STILL THE ONLY one that has continued to meet these standards year after year! If you would like more information about Woodall’s campground rating system, visit their website at www.woodalls.com .

How far in advance should I make a reservation for an RV site?
We recommend making a reservation for an RV campsite at least 8 weeks prior to your arrival date (16 weeks for holiday weekends: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Americade Week, Columbus Day) However, we encourage campers to check availability with the Lake George RV Park even if your lead time is less than this. We begin taking phone, mail, and Internet reservations for the following calendar year beginning on the first business day in October each year.

Will my reservation request guarantee a specific RV campsite?
A confirmed campsite reservation ($75.00 to $213.00 deposit required - depending on date or reservation) guarantees an RV campsite for the dates specified at the time your reservation is made, not a specific campsite. We do encourage early reservations and requests for specific campsites, campsite areas, our wilderness Lodging in Lake George, or locations related to amenity preferences. We assign our campsites just prior to arrival, based on your requests and the date that your request and deposit was received.

Why don’t you confirm specific campsites?
It is our goal to provide you with an RV campsite that meets your expectations. Due to the volume of reservations received and the frequent changes in reservation status that occurs after a reservation is made, this policy enables us to meet a higher rate of satisfaction with our guests than if specific RV campsites were guaranteed in advance. For example, if a reservation was confirmed for a specific campsite in January, and subsequently canceled 2 days prior to the scheduled date of arrival, it would be impossible for us to provide that campsite to a guest that has already been told it was not available in January. Under our policy, an RV campsite is assigned just prior to your date of arrival; this assures that your first requests are always considered. At that time, if we are unable to meet your first request we attempt to honor a second or third request you may have. Overall, this policy assures a higher level of satisfaction for the majority of our guests who come to our RV resort.

Do you allow Tent Camping?
As we are an RV Park, we do not allow tent camping on our sites. However, you may pitch one tent on your site, provided this tent is for sleeping purposes only.

What do you consider an RV?
Our definition of an RV (Recreational Vehicle) is a camping unit designed for road travel that is equipped with factory installed beds and at least two land-to-vehicle service connections (electric, water, or sewer) with electric being one of the two.  For example: a travel trailer, fifth wheel, RV motor home, motor coach, custom private bus, folding camper/pop-up, truck (pickup) camper and camper van are considered an RV. A mini-van is not considered a camper van unless it meets the above criteria. In addition, we do not allow boats with cabins and hookups, to be used as RVs. If you do not have an RV as listed above, consider staying in one of the RV Parks Wilderness Lodging RV rentals, a smart alternative to Lake George hotels.

I have a large family. How many people can you have on one of your RV campsites?
In fairness to all of our guests, we limit the number of people on each site to a maximum of 8. This number includes your original party and any visitors you may have.

Currently, our trolley shuttle operates daily during the Lake George RV Park's summer season and on Saturdays Only from May 26th - June 16 and September 8th - October 6th (including Sun, May 27th & Sun, October 7th). We stop at all of our 10 in-Park stops each conveniently located near campsite and recreation areas. This trolley stop is conveniently located in the center of over 100 outlet stores and restaurants in Lake George. From the outlet center, you may connect with a municipal trolley that shuttles to other area attractions such as The Great Escape Amusement Park, Lake George Village and the City of Glens Falls for a nominal fee (approx $1.00). The Lake George RV Park trolley make trips around the Park and to the Outlet Center every 20-30 minutes during the day and evening (exact starting and ending times vary). While the municipal trolley system is expected to be expanded in the near future, the current system may not handle rider demand at times.
